#NicheParent Community Joins the #NaturalDay Movement!

Sanah Jivani, 16, was diagnosed with a hair loss condition called Alopecia at the age of three. In middle school, the condition became worse. Soon the bullying began. She turned to wigs as a way to feel beautiful. Soon she realized wearing a wig wouldn’t make her any more beautiful than she already was. Martha Stewart is not an Expert on Blogging

Just yesterday Martha Stewart stated during an on camera interview with Bloomberg News that she has "a minor gripe with [social media]" and that  "bloggers are not the experts."  Bloomberg: Is there an argument that social media is in poor taste?   Martha Stewart: Oh I do have a minor gripe about that too because who are these bloggers? They’re not trained editors at Vogue Magazine. I mean there are bloggers writing recipes that aren’t tested, that aren’t necessarily very good, or are copies of everything that really good editors have created and done. So bloggers uh.. create a kind of um.. um... popularity, but they are not the experts. And we have to understand that." In the same interview she says "Twitter is a good business tool" and she uses it for "departing instant news, … [Read more...]

Keeping it Real in Social Media

This entry was submitted by one of our community members, Laura Carbonell. If you are interested in submitting a social media/blogging related article, email assistant [at] thenichemommy{dot}com with subject line "Guest Author Submission." I’ve learned a lot in my two years in the blogosphere, not only from attending conferences and listening to social media gurus, PRs and other bloggers, but especially from observing and interacting with people both online and offline. If others are attracted to who you really are, you will be in good company. If they are not, don’t mind them, they are not supposed to be in your world. I’ve … [Read more...]
